Worshipping haShem (God) with Banners and Flags

Scroll down for a sample of worship banners we have designed. We hold workshops several times a year - see our contact page to make an enquiry.

In the Tanach/Bible (both the Old and New Testaments) banners and flags are used as:

1)    symbols of God's victory over His enemy, Satan (Psalm 20:6);

2)    symbols of God's people being called to rally together in unity and to be servants of God

(Isaiah 11:10-12 and 49:22);

3)    symbols simiilar to the shofar - to look and listen to the word of God (Isaiah 8:3);

4)    symbols of worship/miracles/joy in our Lord (Exodus 17:15 and Song of Songs 2:4 and 6:10);

5)    symbols of who we are in Yeshua - each Israeli tribe had a banner specific to their calling (numerous mentions throughout Numbers).

Bible verses:

Exodus 17:15, "Moshe (Moses) built an alter, called it Adonai Nissi or YHWH Nissi (Elohim/Yahweh/Yehovah is my banner/miracle).

Isaiah 11:10, "On that day the root of Yishai, (Jesse) which stands as a banner for the peoples - the Goyim will seek him out, and the place where he rests will be glorious."

Isaiah 11:12: "He will hoist a banner for the Goyim (nations), assemble the dispersed of Israel and gather the scattered of Judah from the four corners of the earth."

Isaiah 18:3, "All you inhabitants of the world, you who live on the earth: when a banner is hoisted on the mountains, look! When the shofar is blown, listen!"

Isaiah 49:22, "I am beckoning to the nations, raising my banner for the peoples. They will bring your sons in their arms and carry your daughters on their shoulders."

Song of Solomon 2:4, "He brings me to the banquet hall; his banner over me is love."

Song of Solomon 6:10, ""Who is this, shining forth like the dawn, fair as the moon, bright as the sun - but formidable as an army marching under banners?"

Psalm 20:6, "Then we will shout for joy at your victory and fly our flags in the name of our God. May Adobai fulfill all your requests."
